Noemi Padrón is Full Professor at the University of La Laguna (ULL) in the Canary Islands (Spain). Her research focuses on the design of environmental policies and the impact of economic incentives, with significant scientific contributions in pollution markets, sustainable tourism and the circular economy. After getting a degree in Economics from the University of La Laguna, a Master of Science in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison , and a PhD in Economics from Carlos III University, she became an Associate Professor in the Economics Departments of Carlos III University (Madrid) and at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). She currently leads the Canary Islands’ Pilot within the MYRIAD Project, which will become a living lab for Disaster Risk Reduction measures in touristic islands under a mult-hazard and multi-risk systemic approach.
